The Medicine Buddha’s teachings come from the Bhaisajyaguru Vaidurya Prabhasa Sutra, also known as the Medicine Buddha Sutra. This text describes the Medicine Buddha’s vows and his realm in the eastern paradise of Vaiduryanirbhasa (the Pure Lapis Lazuli Light Realm). He vowed to heal beings from suffering and to help them attain enlightenment.

Tayata Om Bekandze Bekandze Maha Bekandze Radza Samudgate Soha

This mantra can be translated as:

"May the many sentient beings be freed from suffering. May the suffering of illness and disease be removed, and may the medicine of the Buddha cure all ailments."
